I enlisted in the Air Force in 1992 and served 24 years in various assignments in the US, Italy, Turkey, Guam and France as well as several deployments to Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Over the course of the years I have been responsible for teams of up to 240 members and budgets and contracts worth $140M. I have served in roles ranging from Administration, Training, Communications and Logistics, Aircraft Maintenance and the AF Parachute team.
I retired from service in October 2016 and became a Corporate Trainer for Sears Holdings Corporation. In that role I was responsible for facilitating leadership and development coaching for approximately 1,000 associates. Additionally, I coached management teams on how to drive and solidify employee behaviors aimed at improving individual and organizational performance.
In my current role as the Director of Administration for the Denver City Attorney’s Office I partner with the City Attorney, Deputy City Attorney and Section leaders to provide advice and assistance in defining and implementing changes to organizational structures, leadership development, team performance, communication, and other management topics. I direct the development and implementation of an inclusive employee engagement and talent management program to include action plans. Additionally, I partner with the Office of Human Resources in areas that impact the City Attorney’s Office including the development and implementation of initiatives that support agency goals. I coach, mentor, develop, and challenge employees at all levels to include the leadership team. Furthermore, I champion continuous improvement, including devising new strategies and new opportunities throughout the agency. I am also responsible for setting performance standards for the department's operations and implementing management initiatives that positively impact operations.
At my core I am a problem solver and I have a passion for developing people at all levels of an organization.
I earned my MBA from Indiana University, Kelley School of Business in 2008. I am married to Colorado Native Jim Knight and we have one daughter, Bailey. My idea of a great time, when I am not spending time with my family, is running half marathons and 10Ks and cycling on my Peloton.
